Australian Open 2021 tournament will be starting from Feb 8 to Feb 21, 2021. The players have to undergo mandatory 14-days quarantine in Melbourne. Australian Open 2021 Tennis tournament had initially been set for January 18, 2021, but the three-week delay has been put in place. As per new guidelines, the tournament will take place from Feb 8, 2021, to Feb 21, 2021, at Melbourne Park in COVID-19 free environment. It will feature singles, doubles, and wheelchair competitions. Women's events will be taking place in Dubai, and Men's will be in Doha. More than $80 million prize money has been announced for this tournament. Players can reach Australia from Jan 15 for the tournament. They and their teams or supporting staff have to undergo 14-day quarantine in Melbourne, the Australian Open Tennis Tournament website reported.

The Australian government announced that foreign tennis players would not be allowed to travel to the country before Dec 31, 2020. The Victorian state government declined to spare anybody from the mandatory 14-day quarantine period.

As per the ESPN report, players and their support teams will be tested before departing for Australia and then a minimum of five times during their quarantine period. If they test positive, they will be subject to standard quarantine arrangements until being cleared by public health officials.
