According to a Talibani official, harsh punishments like amputations will return in Afghanistan.

According to a Talibani official, harsh punishments like amputations will return in Afghanistan.Taliban has taken over complete control of Afghanistan after the dramatic collapse of the government. It created a sense of fear and panic among the public as hardline Islamists returned to power. The Taliban officials have said that they will follow moderate and prudent policies and respect women's rights. But there are several reports of human rights abuses carried out across the country. The Talibanis have revived the punishment of public shaming the men accused of small thefts and trimming their beards.

According to Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, the chief enforcer of Islamic law, the executions, and amputations of hands will be back soon but not in public. He said that they would follow Islam, and such severe punishment is necessary for security.

During its 1990s regime, harsh punishments, which included public executions and chopping off hands and legs, were given to those who did not adhere to the Islamic norms.
