On September 11, 2020, Ted Cruz sent a letter to Attorney General of the United States William P. Barr asking to investigate whether Netflix, its executives, or the filmmakers have violated any federal laws against the production and distribution of child pornography in the film 'Cuties.'

Cruz said that the film 'Cuties' sexualizes young girls. He also stated that these scenes are harmful and that child sex predators across the world in the future will likely manipulate and imitate this film in abusive ways.
