UIDAI is issuing aadhaar cards in PVC form.

The PVC card is loaded with the latest security features and has made the Aadhaar card more durable and convenient to carry.Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the body that issues Aadhaar card, announced on its official Twitter account on Oct 10 that the Aadhaar card can now be ordered in a PVC form. According to the announcement, an individual will need to pay a nominal fee to get a PVC card.

According to UIDAI, the new Aadhaar is durable and has more advanced security features, including a hologram, Guilloche Pattern, ghost image, and Microtext. The card comes with good quality printing and lamination. It can be carried everywhere without having to worry about it being damaged. The card can also be instantly verified offline.

Any individual with an Aadhaar number can get the PVC card. In case someone does not have their mobile number registered in the Aadhaar database, a request can be raised. Some other features of the new PVC card include QR code, issue date and print date, embossed Aadhaar logo.
