Italy claims to have developed the first COVID-19 vaccine.

The experiments were reportedly conducted at Spallanzani Hospital in Rome. The company said human trials which is the most advanced stage of the testing of a candidate vaccine is expected to commence soon.

The official website of the Italian Ministry of Health has also not published any news of a vaccine for COVID-19 being successfully developed.

Pharmaceutical companies across the world are conducting vaccine trials and approval for human use may take a while.

The World Health Organisation has said that there are several ongoing clinical trials of both western and traditional medicines and currently, there are no medicines that that could be used to prevent or cure the disease.
