The government has allowed public transport to resume with a 50 percent fleet and 60 percent capacity except in Chennai, Kanchipuram, Thiruvallur, and Chengalpattu. The easing will start on July 6. Other districts have extended the lockdown with more relaxations, including the partial and conditional public transport and restaurants' partial resumption. Prohibited activities are to resume in a phased manner in areas outside the containment zones. There will be complete lockdown on Sundays (July 5, 12, 19, and 26).
The government will relax restrictions to allow the resumption of business activities in most parts of the state from July 1.
