It was in the backdrop of this, a member of the Norwegian Parliament, Christian Tybring-Gjedde submitted the nomination in support of Trump's role in brokering a peace deal between Israel and the United Arab Emirates. He had previously submitted a nomination for Trump in 2018 for his Singapore summit, which hosted Kim Jong-un. Gjedde was quoted as saying that he has done more than any other nominees in trying to create peace between nations indulged in conflict.
