Due to the warnings issued by the India Meteorological Department over Nisarga Cyclone, Mumbai and neighbouring districts are placed on high alert.The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had forecasted moderate rainfall in most parts of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated places, ahead of the expected landfall of Cyclone Nisarga. Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Dhule, Nandurbar & Nashik districts of Maharastra adjoining Gujarat, and Goa were put on high alert.
