News release by Germany 's Max Planck Society confirms that The Max Planck Institute of Colloids is testing Artemisia annua against COVID-19.The release on 8 April 2020 said that the institute would collaborate with the U.S. based company the ArtemiLife Inc and medical researchers in Denmark and Germany to test the Artemisia plant extract and artemisinin derivatives in laboratory cell studies against the coronavirus. Peter H. Seeberger, Director at the Institute of Max plank, stated that he is excited about the international collaboration of academic and private sector scientists for conducting the cell study testing of the plant Artemisia annua against the virus.
