
William Kennard has previously served as chairman of FCC and as Ambassador to the European Union under Bill Clinton and Barack Obama respectively.
Kennard served as FCC Chairman from November 1997 to January 2001. During his tenure, he shaped policies that created new wireless phones and brought in new broadband technologies.
He has also served as the U.S. Ambassador to the European Union in August 2009. He worked actively to promote transatlantic trade and investment and to eliminate regulatory barriers to commerce.
