Banner Health confirms that the Arizona man died and that his wife was in critical conditions after self-medicating for the coronavirus. As per Banner Health, Phoenix-area man and his wife took chloroquine phosphate in an attempt to self-medicate for the COVID-19. Both of them got sick within half an hour of ingesting the additive. The man died and his wife is under critical care. The man couldn't be recovered when he arrived at a hospital, but the woman was able to throw up much of the chemical. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved the drug for the treatment of patients with COVID-19.

Banner Health has also warned everyone to avoid self-medicating.

According to the exclusive article by NBC News, the man's wife stated that both of them consumed the drug after they had watched the televised advice during which President Trump had talked about the potential benefits of chloroquine.

The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation. For reliable advice on COVID-19 including symptoms, prevention and available treatment, please refer to the World Health Organisation or your national healthcare authority.
