On Twitter, Sonu Sood had re-shared a cartoon on PM Modi and India's unemployment crisis amid lockdown, but after the troll attack, he deleted it.During the COVID-19 pandemic, actor Sonu had helped many migrant workers with food and transportation to reach their homes and provided job opportunities. He was massively trolled for sharing a cartoon featuring himself. Cartoonist Satish Acharya had created an animated picture using Sonu as the subject in August 2020. The comic split into two sections shows PM Narendra Modi uttering Sonu's name and the 1.9 crore job losses in India.

As soon as he retweeted the artwork, some alleged it to be an anti-Modi tweet. Several social media users trolled the actor by sharing memes on him. They even called Sonu's cartoon a part of a PR stunt (Publicity stunts) and called out the actor for propagating his work. After the troll, Sonu deleted the retweet. Later, on August 21, Satish claimed that he had asked Sonu to delete his retweet as he was poorly trolled.

This was not the first time that Satish's cartoon has had Sonu as the subject. He also created the cartoon showing PM Modi asking Sonu about the information or data on migrants' deaths during the lockdown. To this, he responds in the comic, "Sorry sir, I was busy saving them." Retweeting this picture, Sood wrote, "You are awesome, Bhai."
