The figures published by the Public Health Department show that the district has recorded 110182 coronavirus cases as of July 18, 2020, with 6132 deaths. Since the cases are rising, a strict lockdown was imposed by the BMC in western suburbs like Malad, Kandivali, Borivali, and Dahisar. Kandivali has recorded a total of 5769 cases till July 12. A total of 3504 people recovered and were discharged, while 288 people died.
