From 1994 to 2004, Sharma was a part of a gang that murdered people for illegal transplantation of kidneys. As per Sharma's confession, he had illegally transplanted 125 kidneys between 1994 and 2004 and charged Rs 5-7 lakh for one kidney. Sharma worked with a robbery group, who used to kill taxi drivers and used to dump their bodies in the Hazara Canal, which consists of crocodiles. Their taxis were sold in the market for Rs 20,000-25,000 per car.
