The results are based on pre-clinical trials and found positive results against the disease. Further trials and research is needed. The race to develop a vaccine to curb the spread of Covid-19 has been underway for many months. Swedish life sciences firm, Enzymatica announced that the preliminary results of the ColdZyme show that it could deactivate 98% of the Covid-19 virus. The scientists said that their homegrown drug, used to beat the common cold, could effectively fight the infection. The mouth spray would give protection against the virus entering through the oral cavity. However, we can only confirm if the medicine can work effectively against coronavirus after large scale trials are conducted.

The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation. For reliable advice on COVID-19 including symptoms, prevention and available treatment, please refer to the World Health Organisation or your national healthcare authority.
