Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives voted on Nov. 18, 2020, to keep House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in her job for another two years.Pelosi easily won her caucus nomination for another term as a speaker, making it her fourth term with the gavel. Pelosi pledged in 2018 that she would not seek re-election as a speaker in 2022, meaning that this could be her last term as the most powerful member of the House. At a news conference, Pelosi affirmed she would stand by an earlier commitment to serve just two more years as speaker.

Pelosi has led the party in the House since 2003, as a speaker or minority leader, and was the first woman elected speaker of the House in 2007. The caucus vote was conducted virtually, but a voice vote approved Pelosi.
