BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur is hospitalized after drinking cow urine.

An old Image of Pragya Thakur being hospitalized is falsely used to claim that she fell sick after drinking cow urine.

An old Image of Pragya Thakur being hospitalized is falsely used to claim that she fell sick after drinking cow urine. An image of BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur being lifted into an ambulance on a stretcher is circulated on social media, saying that she became ill after drinking cow urine. The MP had claimed that she drinks cow urine daily as it wards off COVID-19 disease. However, the image is old and used to create a fake narrative.

Using relevant keywords, we found the viral image was published in an article published by The Hindu on January 10, 2013. According to the report, she was taken for a medical examination at the Jawaharlal Nehru Cancer Hospital in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The same image was also used for the representational purpose in an article published by Amar Ujala on May 18, 2016. This makes it clear that an old image is used to spin a story in a certain way.

Further, India Today had reported that Pragya was admitted to Kokilaben hospital in Mumbai on March 6, 2021, after she complained of a breathing problem. Thus, the timeline of the events does not match with that of the viral image, and hence we mark it as false.
