Severe respiratory failure is the main cause of death due to COVID-19.The major reason for mortality in Covid-19 patients is respiratory failure. The disease is sometimes complicated by shock and multiple organ failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), sepsis and septic shock, including acute kidney injury and cardiac injury but the actual reason for the disease is not yet well described. Older age and co-morbid disease have been reported as risk factors behind Covid-19 death.

Doctors have also reported thrombosis complications in Covid-19 patients, but there is no authentic study detailing how it may impact the death in COVID-19 patients. There are no clinical studies available to show the fatal effect of thrombosis among COVID-19 patients.
