The United Nations Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) reports that Child marriage is a punishable offence with a fine up to Rs 100,000, or up to two years of imprisonment, or both. But still, child marriage is still being practiced across India. It is also consistent with a publication available on the Press Information Bureau portal.
