The inclusion of the Marwadi language into the Eighth Schedule of the Indian constitution is still under consideration. Presently it is not included.
Of these 22 languages, 14 were initially included in the list, and the rest were added subsequently over time. As per the Ministry of Home Affairs, presently, there are demands for the inclusion of 38 more languages in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution, including Rajasthani (Marwadi) and other languages. These may be added to the official list based on considerations such as the evolution of dialects into language, the widespread use of a language, etc.
