The Bharatiya Janata Party is headed to the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections without a Chief Minister candidate.The senior party leader and BJP Bengal in-charge Kailash Vijayvargiya said that the BJP would not propose any chief ministerial candidate for West Bengal Assembly polls. As of yet, they have not proposed anyone as their Chief Minister. They said that they would fight through the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and win the elections. Further, he added that their target is to win 220-230 seats in the 294-member assembly. According to the Bengal BJP, the issue of proposing a Chief Minister candidate was not a major factor as they were keen on winning the state first.
