The news reports confirm that the central government would use RT-PCR app to track the data related to COVID-19 cases in West Bengal.The Indian Council of Medical Research(ICMR) and National Informatics Centre(NIC) had developed a new app called RT-PCR which would be used by the central government to access data of COVID-19 patients in Mamata Banerjee's state, West Bengal. This app would give data to the state as well as to the centre at the same time without the interference of the state government.

Health workers will fill in the information of suspected corona patients in the RT-PCR app. The app enables data entry in real-time, it also shares updates on reports of both negative and positive cases. The filled information will reach the state and central governments respectively.
