It was reported that the entire area had a disgusting smell due to the poisoned water, whereas thousands of fish had died.

According to police, a case has been registered against the accused under IPC section 277 for Polluting the water of the public spring or reservoir. Villagers demanded a detailed investigation of the incident and to punish the miscreants behind the crime.
