On March 13, the boxer called Marvelous Marvin Hagler died from natural causes near his home in New Hampshire.

On March 13, the boxer called Marvelous Marvin Hagler died from natural causes near his home in New Hampshire.Marvelous Marvin Hagler's death was announced by his wife Kay G. Hagler on Facebook on 13 March 2021. Marvelous Marvin Hagler was a famous middleweight champion during the 1980s. Soon after his death, his old rival Thomas Hearns, in a now-deleted Instagram post, said that Marvin was in the ICU "fighting the after-effects of the vaccine."

As if on cue, anti-vaxxers hijacked this claim to further their narrative about unsafe vaccinations. In a now-deleted post on Instagram, Hearns posted "this is not an anti-vaccine campaign." Hearns' later Instagram post said that he leads with love and respect towards the Hagler family and requests that his post be considered an apology for causing any negative feelings.

On 15 March 2021, Kay clarified on Facebook that Hagler's death was not caused by the vaccine. Additionally, Hagler's website specifically states that he died of natural causes on 13 March 2021. Finally, there isn't any publicly accessible information that could lead to the conclusion that Hagler's death was related to COVID-19 or any COVID-19 vaccine.
