A viral video shows Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan saying BJP will lose in Uttarakhand.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan did not say that the BJP would lose in Uttarakhand; instead, he said "BJP is there in Uttarakhand, there is little competition"

Shivraj Singh Chouhan did not say that the BJP would lose in Uttarakhand; instead, he said "BJP is there in Uttarakhand, there is little competition"The voting for the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand began on February 10 and February 14, respectively. As the political war is underway, a video showing Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan is making rounds. The video's caption states that Chouhan stated that his party would lose in Uttarakhand. However, the post is not valid.

The video shows Chouhan standing with a group of men when one of them asks him, "Tell us about BJP's chances in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand." Chouhan responds to him; however, the audio of his response was not very clear in the viral video. Several Congress leaders have widely populated the video, including former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat. Uttarakhand Congress' official Twitter account also shared the same.

The claims in various social media posts are baseless, as Chouhan said, "There's no doubt about U.P. In Uttarakhand too, BJP is there (BJP would win), but there is a bit of contest there."

Hence, considering that Chouhan never said BJP would lose in Uttarakhand, he said the exact opposite; therefore, we mark the claim as false.
