President Trump's lawyers raised new objections after Supreme Court ruled he must submit his financial records to Manhattan District Attorney.U.S. President Trump refused to release his tax returns as other presidents have done and sued to try to block enforcement of subpoenas by Democratic lawmakers and prosecutors. On July 9, 2020, the Supreme Court's Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. rejected Trump's argument that he did not have to comply with a subpoena from Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. Further, the attorney had the authority to pursue the president's personal and business financial records. Meanwhile, Trump's lawyers have indicated in the memo to U.S. District Court Judge Victor Marrero they would continue the legal battle against the attempt to subpoena Trump's accounting firm.
