There is insufficient publicly available evidence at the current time to accurately verify the claim made by Prof John Wilson. The report published by the World Health Organization (WHO) states that people with COVID-19 disease develop symptoms like mild respiratory symptoms and fever. Approximately 80% (55,924 laboratories) of laboratory-confirmed patients had mild -to- moderate disease, which includes non-pneumonia and pneumonia cases, 13.8% had severe disease and 6.1% were having critical/severe illness.

However, the report given by WHO is for the whole of China and the data for Wuhan is not available at the current time.

The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation. For reliable advice on COVID-19 including symptoms, prevention and available treatment, please refer to the World Health Organisation or your national healthcare authority.
