According to the New Zealand Legislation, the Arms (Prohibited Firearms, Magazines, and Parts) Amendment Bill amends the Arms Act 1983 (the Act), to tighten gun control to increase the safety and security of New Zealanders by reducing the risk of death or injury from guns.
The New Zealand Parliament on its website mentions the details of the Progress of the Arms (Prohibited Firearms, Magazines, and Parts) Amendment Bill which states that the bill was introduced on 1 April 2019.
