Odisha FC defeated SC East Bengal by a 6-5, the highest number of goals the Kolkata team have ever allowed an Indian team to score in over 60 years. On February 27, 2021, Odisha FC and SC East Bengal were involved in one of the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) matches. Odisha FC won the match by beating SC East Bengal by scoring 6-5 at the GMC Bambolim Stadium. Two Indian youngsters Paul Ramfangzauva and Jerry Mawihmingthanga, powered Odisha to end the season on a high. However, SC East Bengal and Odisha FC ended their season with eleven goals.
The only history created was that it was the highest-scoring match in ISL history, the first time when an Indian team had scored six goals against SC East Bengal. The two previous heaviest scores by Indian opponents against East Bengal was on May 30, 2015, when Shillong Lajong FC scored five goals, and on December 29, 2011, four goals were scored by Salgaocar FC. Hence the claim is true.
