Delhi is likely to undergo lockdown again.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said there were no plans to impose a lockdown in Delhi.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said there were no plans to impose a lockdown in Delhi. With the recent spike in COVID-19 cases in the national capital, rumors were floating about the imposition of lockdown in Delhi. The same was dismissed by both the CM and his deputy as Delhi grappled with a new wave of coronavirus.

In his address, Kejriwal gave no hint of the lockdown being imposed again and asked Delhiites to follow basic principles to fight the virus. Deputy CM Manish Sisodia categorically said that the AAP government has no such plans, and it was just a misconception being spread. However, he said they had asked the central government to delegate some powers to impose restrictions locally during the Diwali celebrations. He said they might close some markets that have the potential of becoming Covid-19 hotspots as people were seen not observing social distance measures.

The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation. For reliable advice on COVID-19 including symptoms, prevention and available treatment, please refer to the World Health Organisation or your national healthcare authority.
