Iran has disrupted JCPOA regulations by illegally stocking a large quantity of enriched Uranium, which could be used to build nuclear weapons.Iran signed the Nuclear deal in 2015 with the United States, Germany, France, Britain, China, and Russia and is known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). It allows Iran only to keep a stockpile of 202.8 kilograms of Uranium enriched only up to a level that can be used for medical researches. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported in a confidential document that was given to member countries and seen by the Associated Press. Iran had stockpiled 2105.4 kilograms of low enriched Uranium on August 25, 2020, up from 1571.6 kilograms last reported on May 20, 2020. The IAEA also stated that Iran has been continuing to enrich uranium to a purity of up to 4.5%. But enrichment higher than the 3.67% is not allowed under the JCPOA. President Donald Trump pulled the U.S. out of the deal in 2018 and told renegotiation is needed. Since then, Iran has been slowly violating the restrictions to pressure the remaining nations to increase the incentives and lift the embargos while stockpiling enough uranium, which is reportedly enriched to the weapons-grade used to produce nuclear warheads.
