On January 07, 2021, the US reported around 4,180 deaths due to COVID-19. It is the most deaths in a single day since the start of the outbreak. The death toll exceeded the previous record of 3,764 on December 30, 2020, and 3,844 on January 06, 2021.

According to CNN, around 20,000 deaths have been registered from January 01. The CDC has forecasted that by the end of January 2021, the country’s overall death toll would be in the range of 405,000-438,000.
