President Donald Trump had just paid $750 in U.S. federal taxes, whereas he paid $188,561 local taxes for his Chinese bank account. The New York Times had obtained Trump's tax records that revealed that he maintains a bank account in China, Britain, and Ireland. These foreign accounts are not listed on Trump's public financial disclosures, where he must list personal assets, as they are held under corporate names. Trump International Hotels Management L.L.C's Chinese bank account indicates that from 2013 to 2015, he paid $188,561 in taxes in China for licensing deals.

Trump Organization lawyer, Alan Garten told Times that the company had opened an account with a Chinese bank and paid local taxes to carry out business in China. He further added no deal, transaction, or business activities were ever materialized, and the office was inactive since 2015.

As per Trump's tax information, he had not paid his income tax for ten out of fifteen years, showing more business losses than he earned. He had paid just $750 in federal income taxes the years he became president and his first year in the White House. The report showed significant financial losses in many of his businesses, including his golf courses, which helped him pay lower taxes to the United States.

He paid more than 250 times to China than to the U.S.
