The image claiming to be that of a Kolkata TV opinion poll predicting BJP's Suvendu Adhikari as the winner in Nandigram is fake.West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee is contesting against her former lieutenant Suvendu Adhikari in the Nandigram constituency. The high-pitched battle has caught everyone's attention. Amid this, multiple fake surveys and letters are doing rounds on social media.

One such social media post claimed that Kolkata TV, a Bengali news channel, predicted a win for BJP candidate Suvendu Adhikari in the assembly elections. The opinion poll features the vote share percentage of all the four candidates contesting from Nandigram. It claims that Suvendu Adhikari would receive a 48.3 percent vote, followed by Mamata Banerjee with a 45.1 percent vote share. The logo of Kolkata TV can be found on the top right of the image.

In the wake of this viral message, Kolkata TV clarified that the opinion poll was not conducted by them and termed the opinion poll as fake. The news channel also stated that it would complain to the Election Commission of India and local authorities against misinformation.
