There is insufficient publicly available evidence at the current time to accurately verify this claim.

There is insufficient publicly available evidence at the current time to accurately verify this claim.According to news reports, approximately 3,000 Chinese businesspeople and students were stranded in India when the COVID-19 crisis began, and half of them returned to China before 25 March 2020. The reports have quoted figures from an article published by the Press Trust of India.

However, there is not enough evidence to verify how many Chinese people were stuck in India before the lockdown and when it was implemented nationwide.

The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation. For reliable advice on COVID-19 including symptoms, prevention and available treatment, please refer to the World Health Organisation or your national healthcare authority.
