Russia's Sputnik V vaccine has about 92% efficacy.

The peer-reviewed late-stage trial results of the Sputnik V vaccine on Feb. 2, 2021, revealed that it was almost 92% efficient in fighting COVID-19.Russian Direct Investment Fund has stated that Sputnik V showed strong ability, immunogenicity, and safety results in an interim review of a late-stage trial result. The examination included data from 19,866 volunteers who received both first and second doses of the Sputnik V vaccine or placebo at the final control point of 78 confirmed COVID-19 cases. The vaccine's effectiveness in the elderly group above age 60 of the 2,144 volunteers was 91.8% and did not change statistically from the 18-60 group.

The Lancet international medical journal's experts said that the phase 3 trial results showed the vaccine's 91.6% overall effectiveness. When experimented on the more experienced group, no severe side effects reported could be associated with the vaccine. Results showed that the vaccine provided an active resistance to the virus and justified Moscow's choice to roll out the vaccine even before final data was published, the experts opined.
