New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy announced the 'Shot and a Beer' program to encourage state residents to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
According to a CNBC report, any person who gets their first vaccine dose in May 2021, and takes their vaccination card to one of the participating breweries as proof of vaccination, would receive a free beer service. The report adds that thirteen New Jersey-based breweries are participating in the program.
The participating breweries are themselves footing the bills; the CNBC report quoted Murphy as saying.
This program has been launched for public awareness and information campaigns to educate the New Jerseyans that the vaccines are safe and effective. Thus, the claim that New Jersey is offering a free beer to those who get vaccinated against COVID-19 is True.
