The WEF launched 'The Great Reset' as a means to effectively manage the direct consequences of the COVID-19 crisis and improve the state of the world.At a virtual meeting earlier in June hosted by the World Economic Forum, some of the world's most powerful business leaders, government officials, and activists came together and announced a proposal to “reset” the global economy. Instead of traditional capitalism, the reset should adopt more socialistic policies, such as wealth taxes, additional regulations and massive Green New Deal-like government programs. “Every country, from the United States to China, must participate, and every industry, from oil and gas to tech, must be transformed,” wrote Klaus Schwab, the founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum, in an article published on WEF’s website. “In short, we need a ‘Great Reset’ of capitalism.” Many details about the Great Reset won’t be rolled out until the World Economic Forum meets in Davos in January 2021.

They claim that by rolling out this initiative, the rich and the powerful want to reset the world order and push US President Donald Trump out of the office. However, this claim is unsubstantiated and and links "the great reset" to existing conspiracies. These include Covid-19 hoaxes, vaccine microchips, and a "globalist new world order" that has roots in anti-Semitic beliefs," which have been repeatedly debunked.
