The International Cricket Council has launched the World Cup Super League to determine qualification for the 2023 World Cup.On July 27, 2020, the International Cricket Council (ICC) officially launched the inaugural ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League. The ICC press release stated that the Super League would determine qualification for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 with the top seven teams automatically booking their spot at the India event.

The tournament will begin from July 30, 2020, in Southampton, when England will take on Ireland in a three-match ODI series. Featuring 13 teams, the 12 ICC Full Members and the Netherlands, who qualified by winning the ICC World Cricket Super League 2015-17, the Super League will see each side play four home and four away three-match series, the release said.
