The scientific process explained in the CDC document is misinterpreted. The COVID-19 virus has been isolated many times.A viral Instagram post refers to a CDC document claiming that the health agency has accepted that COVID-19 virus was never isolated. Isolation of the virus means that a pure virus sample is taken from an infected person for study in the lab. Upon verification, we found that the original copy of the CDC document mentioned in the viral post explains a scientific procedure of how the RT-PCR test is developed and performed. It notes that a quantified isolate of the COVD-19 virus was not available to CDC during the study. Hence, a known quantity of RNA identical to that carried by the virus was designed to detect the virus. This scientific procedure explained in the document is misinterpreted to create a hoax that COVID-19 is imaginary. Furthermore, the virus has been isolated by several countries for studies and laboratory testing. WHO in an update, said that the virus first spotted in China was isolated on January 7, 2020. The CDC itself has noted that it isolated the virus from a patient on June 6, 2020. The NIAID has also produced images of the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 images and is published on its website. The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation. For reliable advice on COVID-19, including symptoms, prevention, and available treatment, please refer to the World Health Organization or your national healthcare authority.
