Paytm has claimed that its customers have been defrauded by the phishing activities over the mobile networks and it has caused the financial and reputational loss, for which the company has sought damages of Rs 100 crore.

A notice by the Delhi High Court confirmed that Paytm has filed a PIL against Telecom Companies over the financial loss & reputation of the brand.The Delhi High Court received a plea by an online payment platform Paytm alleging that telecom operators are not blocking those who are defrauding its customers by phishing activities over various mobile networks and sought damages of Rs 100 crore financial loss. The Delhi High Court issued a notice on 2 June 2020 in the response of the plea by One97 Communications Ltd, which runs Paytm and asked the Ministry of Communication, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India and major mobile service providers, including Airtel, Reliance Jio, MTNL, BSNL and Vodafone seeking their stand before the next date of hearing on 24 June.
