A fake screenshot of a Tweet is attributed to Assam Chief Minister over the closure of educational institutions in the state. As more percentage of the population in India is vaccinated, schools and colleges have reopened across the country. Amid this, fake news is being spread in the name of the Assam Chief Minister claiming that schools and the colleges will be closed starting from 20 November due to rising corona cases. The viral message is fake, and the government has not issued any such order.

The State Disaster Management Authority of Assam (ASDMA) had announced on 6 September the reopening of physical classes for higher secondary, graduation, and post-graduation institutions in a phased manner. The administration has not issued any further order altering the previous order. Further, the Assam chief minister himself clarified on Twitter that the news was fake and asked the police to take action in the matter.

We mark the claim as false as the screenshot of the purported order is fake.
