They were caught at the Indian side of the Line of Control (LoC) on 14 May 1999 and were kept in custody for almost 22 days. They were tortured in a very inhumane way. The autopsy report confirms that their limbs were chopped off, private parts mutilated, eyes popped out and had multiple cigarette burns. Later their bodies were handed over to the Indian Army on 9 June 1999. The MEA document on page number 81 and 82 details the conflict in Kargil war. The YouTube video published by the ABP News shows that one of the soldiers saying about tortures done before the bodies were handed back to India. It is in line with the report published by the News18 website.
