Pakistan's mission to the United Nations had falsely claimed to have addressed a United Nations of Security Council (UNSC) debate on terrorism.The UNSC had organized a virtual open debate on August 24, 2020, for considering the threats on international peace and security posed by terrorist acts.

Pakistan's mission to the United Nations had falsely claimed that its UN envoy Munir Akram had delivered a speech to the council on terrorism.

The security session meeting was not open to non-members of the council. The video recording of the session posted by the UNSC had featured only 15 representatives of its permanent and non-permanent members participating in the debate, and Pakistan was not a part of it.
