The federal appeals court is considering rejecting Clinton's bid to avoid testifying over her email controversy lawsuit. According to a CNBC article, in March 2020, a judge ordered Hillary Clinton to testify for a lawsuit related to her use of a private email server for involving official business while working as secretary of State under President Barack Obama. Subsequently, on June 2nd, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit held a hearing to consider Clinton's extraordinary request to overturn a judicial order requiring her to testify, known as a “petition for writ of mandamus." Additionally, a Washington Examiner article claimed that the Justice Department said the Trump administration didn’t support Clinton’s petition for mandamus. However, the appeals court will likely issue an opinion on whether they will be granting Clinton's request to avoid the deposition in the next few weeks.
