A statement released by the State Bank Of India clarified that its branches continued to operate amid lockdown due to COVID-19.The State Bank of India said, to continue working amid the lockdown, its banks across the country had revised the branch timings, reduced the number of staff, and put limits on the type of transactions that were allowed at the branches. It also urged people to use digital channels instead of visiting the branch.

The SBI branch on Pune's East Street has not been closed, no announcements or reports of such a closure have been issued.
