He clarified via twitter on 13 June that he was not well and had suffered from body ache since 11 June. He also confirmed that he had been tested positive for COVID-19. Afridi had been conducting charity works in Pakistan during the COVID-19 crisis. His former colleague Misbah-ul-Haq suggested that Afridi got infected while carrying out the charity work in Balochistan and the Northern regions of Pakistan. Misbah also wished Afridi a speedy recovery.
