The fire was accidental which broke out in the residential area of Shopian and gutted 20 industrial sheds. A 32-second video of buildings on fire is being circulated on social media claiming that terrorists set a Hindu temple on fire in Zainpora town of Shopian district in Jammu and Kashmir. This claim is made in the backdrop of growing incidents of targeted killings of minorities.

We searched on google and found that the incident happened in a residential area of Parimpora. Several media reported that the fire broke in the outskirts of Shopian, adjacent to fruit mandi, which engulfed several houses. However, there was no mention of a temple being burnt. Thus it is clear the video was falsely shared to create a communal rift in the region.
