Reproductive Health Act of 2019 confirms that Abortions are legal in New York with some riders.The Act was signed into law by Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Jan. 22 of 2019 which said that comprehensive reproductive health care including birth control and abortion, is a fundamental component of a woman's health, privacy and equality. The legislature says abortion is one of the safest medical procedures performed in the United States. However, there are provisions which say that abortion is legal only if performed under one of the 3 circumstances. Further, New York took abortion out of the criminal code.
