"Any person contravening this order shall be punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code," the government order states.
Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant was quoted as saying, "There are no cases of bird flu in Goa, but still we have decided to ban the entry of birds. We have issued orders to the director of animal husbandry and veterinary services to stop bringing birds from other states."
